Fine words of wisdom from a young lad to his sister as they were walking across a fallen tree over water.
I was unsure about going for a walk this afternoon, but saw it in my minds eye and decided it was meant to be. I had to pre-book a spot in order to get into our local park. They only let so many people in at a time. I was able to get a spot today because it was bad weather. So I got dressed in my rain attire and drove to the park.
A blog post I wrote a while back that seems to have some pertinence today. I woke up with this in mind. Suppression of humanity is a real thing if we allow it, and unless each and every one of us can find a way out of that suppression, specifically held within the mind – we are destined to live without freedom. A self-imposed prison if you will. It’s been a life long lesson for me and apparently coming up for another round.
I have been asking myself lately: What does freedom look like in my life? How would I know if I were free? And, Why is freedom so important to me? In the past, I associated freedom with the physical, through my body. Running has always felt like freedom to me, however there have been few times in my life that my body actually felt the ease of running. What does physical freedom really feel like then? But what about emotional freedom or spiritual freedom? Have I ever experienced these freedoms?
As Above, So Below. My soul is Ready to Break Free!
I have been confronted recently with the implications of continuing to live day-to-day from my very limited self-imposed slave mentality. I look back and see it’s prevalence, to the point of believing now that my soul’s mission is to understand and experience true freedom. It feels…
I’ve been doing a lot of digging lately, really deep digging inside my being, getting into the nooks and crannies – the places where I’m still feeling unrest – in order to finally be at peace with it all. How many times have I been down this road? This time, I found some real gems and wanted to share one of them with you.Continue reading “Self-Love – Fact or Fiction, Exposing the Dam Lies”
I was at my wits end trying to sink my teeth into a pressing life pattern in order to take a huge bite out of it. I finally did nail it, but it took a lot of digging. In doing so, I came to realize that the beliefs, emotions and feelings I experienced are very old – way before this lifetime. Continue reading “Lifting High Enough to Get the Big Picture”
Sometimes getting back to the essentials and basics is important. I find I need to stop all “input” once in a while because it only adds to any frustration I may be experiencing if I’ve let things build up too long. If I can’t get quiet to hear my own thoughts or feel my heart – it’s time to take a break. Continue reading “20 Essentials That Will Make Your Busy Life Easier”
Listening is a skill most people believe they have – but in all probability – they don’t. I would even go so far as to say the art of listening is rare. Look back for a minute – how many times have you been genuinely heard? Most likely it’s a very low number – unless you are fortunate enough to have a good listener in your life which is a true gift!
I love finding quick, easy, effective tools that help us reduce fear because reducing fear allows for more freedom of choice and for taking positive action in our lives. Emotional Freedom Techniques, EFT or “Tapping” is one of these tools. I felt moved to share this technique with you.
I was listening to a friend of mine the other day as she was sharing her story about being in a very traumatic car accident many years ago. She said it took a lot of physical therapy and hard work to fully recover. However, she recalled the panic she felt being trapped in the car, waiting for rescuers to free her and how this panic feeling is still with her today. She said anytime she feels “trapped” or sees someone “trapped” (like on TV) it’s like she is right back in that car, feeling extreme panic again.Continue reading “We do not Completely Exist in Linear Time: Most of us Have Pieces Stuck in Other Timelines Needing Our Help”
I had a dream last night that I showed up to work without my uniform. It got me thinking. I believe we manifest situations and people in our lives for ultimate growth and learning, especially if these situations and people really get under our skin. When this happens in my life, I take it as a sign that some part of me wants to leap out of a self-imposed box and have a breakthrough – almost as if to say: I’ve had enough of being bothered and want to move on from this ridiculousness. I’ve heard people say they’ve received creative inspiration from various kinds of places. I can’t really speak to this because I have limited personal experience with creativity. I’ve always believed and said, for better of worse, “I’m not a creative person.” I couldn’t conceive of what being creative meant so it wasn’t missing for me, except, though, when I came across a creation that really spoke to me. I would be in complete admiration and appreciation for the creator’s talent!Continue reading “Rekindling Creativity: Healing Stuck Feelings That Block Inspiration”
Darkness would have us believe it’s engaged in an all-out war with the light. Is it true? Is there actually a war going on between darkness and light? Darkness (our own fear) would have us believe it will prevail, that it’s stronger than the light. It uses our love against us and others by shutting us down, enabling us to cause harm to and/or turn us away from the ones we love. Continue reading “Facing Our Fear of the Dark”
I saw Wayne Dyer speak years ago and something he shared really stuck with me. He told us he had to squeeze every ounce of toothpaste from the tube before throwing it away. It’s not something he thought about, he just always did it. He said it really frustrated him when he saw a not-so-empty toothpaste tube in the garbage that one of his kids had thrown away. He described how he picked it out of the trash with discontent and continued to use it until the tube was completely flat. A new inner child of mine has been awakened and is trying to take over my life. I have been unaware of this particular inner child and was asleep to what was really going on beneath the surface. You can know something, as in “Oh yeah, I know that.” But it’s not the same as knowing something, as in the embodiment of the first hand experience of knowing something.Continue reading “The Inner Child – To What Extent Can it Control Our Lives?”
Now-a-days people are finding themselves face to face with their mirror image. It’s usually someone they know and frequently interact with, someone they can’t stand, causing constant frustration and/or driving them crazy, and someone who has the exact opposite “self” to them resulting in constant triggering. This could be anyone – a spouse, co-worker, sibling, parent, child . . .Continue reading “The Inner Journey to Self Love”
This can be a very stressful decision – Do I speak up or say nothing? I have struggled with finding my voice for many years. I have also been healing that which stops me from speaking up for myself. My tendency would be to “stuff it” down and say nothing out of fear of reprisal. I have recently been in a situation that challenged me yet again to speak up. I share the following in hope that it will help others sort through this dilemma!Continue reading “Speaking up for Yourself – Easier Said Than Done!”
I just returned from a 21 day trip through Peru and Bolivia. When I was deciding whether or not to book the trip, I kept thinking: I don’t want to go to Peru or Bolivia, but I kept coming back to the idea that it might be worth it since a good friend and spiritual leader was also going. As it turns out . . .Continue reading “The Body Temple – Leaving is no Longer an Option”
Just the nature of “being in pursuit . . .” implies something is missing, akin to “the grass is always greener on the other side.” The one in pursuit believes he or she lacks the very thing they are pursuing. In the midst of pursuit, the very thing you are after, in this case happiness, will always elude you. That is the nature of pursuit. It’s only when we give up the search, in the absence of looking, and in the stillness, can we actually obtain what we were seeking.Continue reading “The Pursuit of Happiness Will Not End in Happiness.
